Health for the Long Haul

Health for the Long HaulI am continually surprised at how many emails I get from people asking if I prefer supplements over smoothies over juicing, etc. to be healthier and lose weight. Now of course any positive changes like that are beneficial, but it’s not a magic bullet. I want to encourage you to start thinking differently. Think in terms of health for the long haul.

When you’re considering trying out a new diet, detox, cleanse, supplement program or anything similar, ask yourself if this is something you can do long term. If not, then remember, the benefits are going to be short-lived. This is why time and time again new clients share with me programs that helped them lose 25 pounds or more, only to have gained all the weight back and then some!

Let’s shift our perspective and make lifestyle changes. That cool green smoothie recipe you saw on Pinterest-start your morning that way. Meatless Mondays? That can be done long term as well. Eating a salad at work every other day? Yep! You can not only incorporate these healthy habits, but you’ll reap the benefits for the rest of your life. Yeah!
