Don’t Fall Victim to the Corona 20

This year, we’re spending a lot more time at home. Some of us are completing schoolwork, working jobs, and taking care of kids all under the same roof. At times, it can feel difficult to shift your mindset from the relaxing vibe of home to the focused setting you’re used to at work.

Maybe you are missing that gym membership like crazy and need to find an alternative with at-home workouts (check out this playlist for 10-15 minute workout videos), or maybe you’re struggling with everyday tasks and motivation. You are not alone as we all navigate the changing times and decide how to make the best out of each day.

There are several ways to increase productivity and create the best space possible for yourself to maintain excellent health and wellness. First, think of simple ways to remain active throughout the day. An example is to take a brisk walk during your lunch break instead of scrolling through social media. Give your eyes a break from the screens and enjoy a brief stroll around the neighborhood. Whatever you choose to do during your lunch break – make it worthwhile and take the FULL break! Step away from the computer and get your blood flowing. Think of everyday movements that will keep you moving all day long!

Second, find time to block out time on your calendar for email correspondence, reach out to leads, connect with prospective team members. It can be a quick 30-minute session or as long as two hours. It will break up your day and allow you to focus on the task at hand rather than trying to squeeze it in at random points throughout the day. Don’t interrupt your work and get off-task, designate the time to reach out so you can nail it and continue to build your team!

Finally, the most important part—remember to take care of your mental health.  Find what helps take care of your mental health and ensure that you are checking in with yourself. With uncertain times comes uncertain feelings and emotions, and it’s important to find what activities can work for you to maintain a positive mindset. Think of meditation, yoga, taking baths, journaling—all of these tasks are relatively simple and don’t take much time at all! Taking a few minutes to a few hours each day to dedicate to yourself and your mental health will help you soar in times of working from home.
