Meal Planning 101

Meal prepping can be much easier than you think! I am a busy Mom of two, so the less time and preparation a meal requires, the better! The number one reason people are not successful with their health goals is a lack of preparation. You must have a plan set in place in order to create a sustainable and clean meal plan for every day of the week.

I recommend starting on Sunday night. Make sure everything is ready to go for Monday! When it is time to make Sunday dinner and you have started off the meal for the night, you can begin the preparation for the rest of the week. Give yourself plenty of time to make dinner and start planning breakfast and lunches for the rest of the week while dinner is cooking.

Next, you’ll decide what will be for dinner the following night. Pull out the frozen meat or whatever needs dethawing a day in advance. This allows you to set your plans for dinner the following night. Once you have decided on dinner for the next day and started prepping lunches and breakfast, you’ve kick-started your meal prepping for the week. Then, once the next day rolls around, you can repeat the process and get in the mindset of thinking one day ahead.

Consider taking care of the preparation on Sunday so that you ensure a stress-free and energized Monday when it comes to feeding yourself and your family. It will make for a much calmer week and ensure that you are getting proper nourishment. Make the commitment to your health and wellness by planning out your meals in advance!
