Does exercise make us happier?

I am a gym rat because exercise always makes me happier. For a long time, I have been searching for the fact: what does exercise really do to our bodies and brains?

Now, I know a lot about it. In this article, I am presenting some of those reasons why exercise makes us happier.

WHAT TRIGGERS THE HAPPINESS IN OUR BRAIN WHEN WE EXERCISE?

What Happens To Our Brains When We Exercise and How It Makes Us HappierWhen we exercise, our brain recognizes it as a moment of stress. As our heart pressure increases, our brain perceives as we are either fighting the enemy or fleeing from it. The brain releases a protein called BDNF (Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor) to protect us from stress. That’s why we feel at ease after doing exercise with the help of the best inversion table.

At the same time, our brain releases chemical, endorphins which fight with the stress, minimizes the exercise discomfort and blocks the feeling of pain.

REASONS WHY DOES EXERCISE MAKE US HAPPY

Following are the reasons why we feel happier after exercise.

6. It releases happy chemicals in our brain

Our brain produces a chemical called Dopamine that plays a role in the feelings of pleasure and happiness. Many studies suggest as we grow, the dopamine level decreases and exercise is the best way to increase its production in the brain. So run, jump, play, lift and be happy.

5. It makes us less stressed

When we exercise regularly, our raised heart rate and blood pressure help us become less stressed out in the long term. Less stress results in a happier and healthier life.

4. It energizes us

Are you feeling exhausted after a long day at work?

Many studies indicate when we exercise; we become more energized throughout the rest of the day. The more energized we are, the happier we would be.

3. It boosts our confidence

When we start feeling low at self-esteem, it appears in all areas of our lives like our relationships, career, goals achievement and aspirations. Doing exercise may weaken this negative thought and makes us feel stronger, more independent and more confident. This boosts our confidence that results in happiness.

2. It eases anxiety

Are you suffering from anxiety?

Exercise may be a simple cure. Recent studies on the effects of exercise shows that exercise may work like meditation and talk therapy for the people who are suffering from anxiety.

So, when you feel anxiety next time, try a hard workout. You’ll feel happier by the end.

1.     It relieves insomnia

Do you use sleeping pills?

Skip using pills and start exercising. According to different studies, a regular exercise improves the sleeping problem of insomniacs and sleep quality. When we have a good sleep, we feel more active and alert.

The next time when you are feeling down, stressed or anxious, get off the couch and start exercising. You will feel more energized, confident and eventually, happier and healthier person for life.
