Wellness Workshop: Cleansing 101

Don’t let the word “cleanse” scare you! Cleansing is a continuous activity that will help improve your health over time. There are so many ways to naturally cleanse without buying into another type of detoxifying routine. 

Consider your daily workout routine: that post-workout feeling is an immediate, quick way to cleanse your body. An appropriate cleanse does not always have to mean fasting or changing your diet altogether. It can be as simple as improving your daily routine or having a steam in the sauna each day. 

If you’re trying to lose weight or make any type of lifestyle changes, a cleanse can work wonders for your wellness and health. Of course, check with your doctor if you are lacking energy or feeling like your body is building up a lot of toxins in your system. 

If you feel like you are eating healthy, working out, and not losing weight, it could be that your body is not removing toxins correctly! Fun fact: toxins store themselves in fat cells. So make sure that your digestive system is functioning to ensure that your metabolism is working correctly. Looking at your body and making sure it is functioning optimally is key to cleansing correctly!

There are so many different types of detoxes and cleanses available in the market—some more effective than others. But, what most people don’t realize, is there are many ways to cleanse for different periods of time and each cleanse offers different health benefits for each individual. Not all cleanses will work exactly the same for all consumers. We’re all built differently and some of us may see results or feel healthier sooner than others. 

Before selecting a cleanse, be sure to do extensive research on the products and suggestions that the detox calls for. Make sure you are aware of all the ingredients in the cleanse and find out which will lead to desired results for your wellness and body while still promoting a safe and clean program.
