I LOVE being active!

I just got done teaching m5K Beach Runy second spin class this week, and had a huge revelation. Half way through the class, completely covered in sweat, I smile. I look at the students in my class giving their all, and I know how good they are going to feel when class is done. They took time out of their super busy day to do something really amazing for themselves. How inspiring!

I remember being in college and my life consisted of attending class, writing papers, and maintaining my social life. Exercise? No way-sleeping in was just so much more appealing. But the strange thing was…I had no energy. I was always tired and gradually gained 20+ pounds! I had played sports year round in high school, so this lifestyle change greatly impacted me.

It took a couple of years, but eventually I realized that I was not on a healthy path at all. I decided to dive back into the fitness world and get myself back in shape. One year later, I had lost 30 pounds and was regularly competing in 5K races. I also enrolled in Grad School to get my Masters in Nutrition.

Ever since then, I have made fitness an integral part of my life. I love competing in different types of races (duathlons, triathlons, marathons, 10Ks, etc) and trying new things. It is the most amazing feeling to be active and feel healthy. Please join me!
